About the role#
Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term to support programs in Foster Care, Adoption, and Family Pathways. This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in the non-profit sector while contributing to projects that support families and children in the Lufkin community.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
- Shadow staff and assist with the management of family cases.
- Collaborate with team members on planning special year-round events.
- Participate in meetings and perform necessary clerical duties.
- Fulfill tasks assigned by your supervisor and develop technical skills related to non-profit operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- A strong academic record.
- Ability to commit to 16-24 hours per week during business hours, with some required evening availability.
- Comfort working with individuals of diverse ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to your own housing and transportation to the internship site.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Relevant fields of study include Psychology, Public Health, Human Resources, Sociology, and Criminal Justice.
