Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking interns to support programs within Foster Care, Adoption, and Family Pathways in Lufkin, Texas. This program provides hands-on experience in non-profit operations, offering the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that assist families in achieving their potential. This is an unpaid internship for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
- Shadow and manage specific aspects of a family case.
- Collaborate with team members on planning for special year-round events.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to team projects.
- Perform clerical duties and fulfill tasks assigned by a staff supervisor.
- Develop technical skills related to the non-profit industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- A strong academic record.
- Ability to work 16-24 hours per week during business hours, with some evening availability required.
- Comfort working with individuals of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
- Proficiency in providing clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to personal housing and transportation to and from the internship site.
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.
- Relevant majors include Psychology, Public Health, Human Resources, Sociology, and Criminal Justice.
