Buckner Children and Family Services is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term to support programs including Family Hope Centers, Foster Care and Adoption, FYi, and Family Pathways. This program provides an opportunity to gain experience in the non-profit sector while contributing to initiatives that assist families in the Lubbock community.
What you'll do#
- Support the planning and implementation of activities for children and families.
- Shadow staff and manage aspects of a family case.
- Collaborate with team members on planning special year-round events.
- Participate in team meetings and perform necessary clerical duties.
- Fulfill tasks assigned by a staff supervisor and develop technical skills related to the non-profit industry.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Human Resources, or Health Administration.
- A strong academic record.
- Ability to commit to 16-24 hours per week during business hours, with some evening availability required.
- Comfort working with children and adults of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to personal housing and reliable transportation to the assigned internship site.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred but not required.
