About the role#
Buckner International offers hands-on experience in human services through our community-based programs. This internship provides students with a view into how non-profits operate and how to serve families in underserved communities. You will work directly with our teams to support our mission of strengthening families and children.
What you'll do#
- Support family strengthening and case management services.
- Assist with community outreach and program delivery.
- Engage in volunteer and group activities.
- Contribute to program administration, research, or special projects.
- Observe trauma-informed and strengths-based practices in action.
- Collaborate with team members across various departments.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an accredited college or university, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- A strong academic record.
- Comfort working with children and adults of various ages, cultures, religious beliefs, and backgrounds.
- Ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions.
- Access to your own housing and transportation to the site.
- Availability to work 16 to 24 hours per week.

- Location: Longview, Texas.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, in-person internship.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid educational placement.
- Preferred Majors: Sociology, Public Health, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
