About the role#
As an R&D Engineering Systems Co-op, you will join an interdisciplinary team providing technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, software, and catheter engineering. You will work with partners in marketing, regulatory, and quality teams to support projects from concept through commercialization and sustainment of mapping systems. This role is full-time and requires you to be on-site at our Waltham office five days per week.
What you'll do#
- Define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows, and input/output processes using systems engineering methods.
- Solve system problems by analyzing situations and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
- Document system architecture and design control elements through technical reports and memos.
- Translate customer needs into technical requirements by partnering with field, marketing, and service teams.
- Define, troubleshoot, and execute testing for system design and verification activities.
- Assist with industry standards testing for safety and EMC in accordance with IEC 60601-1.
- Support risk analysis activities for assigned projects.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering.
- Expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Proficiency in MATLAB.
- Understanding of hardware and software systems.
- Ability to participate for the full program duration from January 11 through August 6 or August 13, 2027.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with report writing.
- Knowledge of system-level programming in C, Linux, and Python.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

- Transportation: You must have reliable transportation to and from the office as the company does not provide support for commuting.
