    About the role#

    As an R&D Engineering Systems Co-op, you will join an interdisciplinary team providing technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, software, and catheter engineering. You will support projects from concept through commercialization and assist in the sustainment of mapping systems. This role provides hands-on experience with system requirements, risk analysis, and verification activities.

    What you'll do#

    • Help define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows, and input/output processes.
    • Solve system problems by analyzing situations and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
    • Document system architecture and design control elements through technical documents, reports, and memos.
    • Collaborate with marketing, regulatory, and quality teams to translate customer needs into technical requirements.
    • Define, troubleshoot, and execute testing for system design and verification activities.
    • Assist with industry standards testing for safety and EMC in accordance with IEC 60601-1.
    • Support risk analysis activities for assigned projects.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering.
    • Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
    • Proficiency in programming using MATLAB.
    • Strong understanding of hardware and software systems.
    • Ability to work on-site for the full duration of the co-op from May 17 or May 24 through December 17, 2027.
    • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
    • Knowledge of system-level programming in C, Linux, and Python.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with documentation and report writing.
    • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

    Location & details#

    • This position is located at 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA.
    • This is a full-time, on-site role requiring presence in the office at least five days per week.
    • Reliable transportation to the Waltham office is required.
    • This role is deemed safety-sensitive and candidates will be subject to a prohibited substance test.
