    About the role#

    This is a 12-month co-op position starting in January 2027. You will work within the Research and Development Engineering Department to support the ideation, design, prototyping, and manufacturing transfer of medical devices. You will participate in regulatory approval processes, patent development, and clinical research studies.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in device development through prototyping, testing, and 3D modeling.
    • Create and conduct verification and validation testing to confirm design requirements.
    • Prepare regulatory filings for government bodies.
    • Support clinical trials and coordinate with external suppliers and clinicians.
    • Develop technical documentation, including drawings and work instructions.
    • Monitor safety practices to ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA standards.
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to meet product timelines.
    • Maintain a commitment to patient safety and product quality.

    What you'll need#

    • Active enrollment in an Engineering degree program.
    • Experience in laboratory or engineering test environments, including the use of standard measurement tools.
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare technical documentation such as reports or drawings.
    • Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in product design, testing, or development.
    • Interest in biomedical technology.
    • Ability to work independently and with diverse groups of Engineers and Clinicians.
    • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of Six Sigma or LEAN methodologies.
    • Experience with SolidWorks and Minitab.
    • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment and knowledge of ISO 13485.

    • Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
    • Term: Winter 2027.
    • Modality: Hybrid (requires being in the office at least three to four days per week).
