    About the role#

    As a PMO Business Process Intern with the IO&E Research & Development Project Management Office, you will help document and standardize key PMO processes. You will create practical resources that help project teams work consistently and effectively. You will work with PMO team members, project managers, and subject matter experts to understand how processes are performed today, including the key steps, timing, roles, and tools used. You will turn these insights into playbooks, templates, and training materials. During this three-month internship, you will own defined workstreams from discovery through delivery.

    What you'll do#

    • Interview PMs, functional partners, and subject matter experts to understand established PMO processes.
    • Document and standardize processes, including key inputs, outputs, and roles.
    • Develop PMO playbooks, process guides, templates, and checklists.
    • Create training materials, job aids, and onboarding resources.
    • Support PMO SharePoint and other business tools using Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
    • Explore opportunities to use automation and AI to reduce manual work.
    • Gather feedback, incorporate updates, and support the implementation of new resources.
    • Manage workstream activities, timelines, and deliverables while communicating progress to the team.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a bachelors or graduate degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Project Management, Organizational Leadership, Information Systems, Engineering Management, or Data Analytics.
    • Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
    • Ability to commit to one of the full program periods: May 17th - August 6th or May 24th - August 13th.
    • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and pay close attention to detail.
    • Comfort asking questions, learning unfamiliar processes, and working through ambiguity.
    • Coursework or experience in business process improvement, business analysis, operations, or related fields.
    • Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or project portfolio management tools.
    • Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, or emerging business technologies.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota (Arbor Lakes corporate office).
    • Modality: On-site (at least four days per week).
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Reliable transportation to the office is required.
