About the role#
The Process Engineering Associate provides input on product design and manufacturability during concept and commercialization phases. You will also participate in continuous improvement efforts while scaling up existing manufacturing processes. This is a 12-month placement beginning in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes by generating ideas and drafting 3D prototypes in SolidWorks.
- Build and test prototype devices to ensure they meet requirements.
- Assist engineers with validation, test plans, and process characterization.
- Lead LEAN initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Create technical documentation, including drawings and work instructions, and provide training for new equipment.
- Design test methods or follow standard protocols to meet patient needs.
- Monitor safety practices and maintain compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product timelines while prioritizing patient safety and product quality.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an Engineering degree or a recent Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or LEAN principles.
- Experience with SolidWorks and Minitab.
- Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- A strong interest in biomedical technology.
- A hands-on approach and the ability to work independently or with a diverse group of engineers and clinicians.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work model: On-site, five days per week.
- Term: Winter 2027 start.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
