About the role#
Our R&D engineers design and develop medical devices that improve and extend the lives of patients. The Electrophysiology unit focuses on technologies to diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders, including pulsed field ablation and radiofrequency. You will work on teams to solve engineering challenges and gain exposure to the operations of a medical device company.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering work using your problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Grow your skills through training, hands-on experience, and mentorship.
- Use benchtop and preclinical methods to assess the safety and effectiveness of prototype devices.
- View recorded clinical procedures and develop test methods to replicate real-world use.
- Learn how R&D efforts translate to the clinical environment to meet user needs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- If in Computer Science, you must have laboratory experience.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- Ability to commit to one of two full program periods: May 17th - August 6th or May 24th - August 13th.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Experience with pre-clinical or benchtop work in a school or professional setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
- A preference for candidates currently pursuing a PhD or starting a Master's program.
