About the role#
BorgWarner is looking for a Power Electronics Intern to join our team in Kokomo. This is a rolling, part-time internship where you will support engineering and technician activities. You will work on-site and assist with various technical tasks, lab operations, and equipment maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering and technician activities, including test box assembly, product modifications, and bench set-ups.
- Build wire harnesses and assemble thermal couples.
- Fabricate carts and safety covers.
- Program assemblies with product code as directed by engineering.
- Document and communicate assembly and test results.
- Manage capital inventory by recording equipment model numbers, serial numbers, and locations.
- Ensure all test equipment remains calibrated by the required due dates.
- Assist with lab reorganizations and clean-up efforts.
- Work within a team environment and maintain a flexible schedule.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation from an accredited college or university in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during school breaks.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits and soldering techniques.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivation and strong time management skills.
