About the role#
BorgWarner is seeking a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) intern for our Summer 2027 program. This role supports the development of analysis processes and standards for electric drive designs. You will work under general supervision to conduct research, perform analysis, and document findings.
What you'll do#
- Investigate current standards and identify process gaps for structural analysis of electric drive designs.
- Develop and implement new methods for structural analysis.
- Use FEA and other software tools to analyze components.
- Explore advanced features of existing software to improve internal processes.
- Create documentation and work instructions in a standard format.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation from an accredited college or university.
- Junior or Senior standing preferred, with a major in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Practical experience with ANSYS Workbench.
- A solid knowledge base of engineering theories.
- Strong analytical, technical, and statistical skills.
- Ability to solve problems effectively and work well within a team.
- A clear interest in the automotive industry.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work under general supervision.
