The Automated Driving Production Technology Team develops the hardware processes and analytical tools that support automated driving systems. We work across manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to improve efficiency and performance. As an intern, you will support AI and hardware process initiatives through data analysis, automation, and model development.
What you'll do#
- Analyze production, quality, equipment, and test data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, and anomaly detection to support predictive insights.
- Develop data pipelines, analytical models, and automated workflows for engineering and production teams.
- Evaluate process performance metrics such as cycle time, throughput, first-pass yield, and defect rates.
- Support root-cause investigations by connecting equipment signals, process conditions, and quality outcomes.
- Measure the impact of process changes and recommend improvements to reduce manual effort or increase quality.
- Create dashboards and reports to support technical and operational decisions.
- Document your methods, findings, and recommendations.
- Present results to engineers, technical leaders, and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical).
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Intent to return to your degree program after the internship.
- Coursework or project experience in Python, SQL, MATLAB, statistics, data visualization, or machine learning.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Experience with Python libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow is preferred.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, time-series analysis, predictive maintenance, or design of experiments is helpful.
- A basic understanding of manufacturing, hardware development, robotics, or automated testing.
