About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Fairfield, Connecticut office during the Summer 2027 term. This role offers the opportunity to gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the site development process from concept to construction. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
What you'll do#
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and erosion control plans.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to move projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- An interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.
