About the role#
Bohler is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join the team in Raleigh, North Carolina for the summer of 2027. This position offers exposure to the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering firm. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments. You will gain insight into the full site development process from concept through construction.
What you'll do#
- Learn the stages of land development and site design.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and soil erosion control plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate and drive project progress.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for design improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided if you are not yet proficient.
- A strong curiosity and motivation to learn.
