About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our West Palm Beach office for the Summer 2027 term. You will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
What you'll do#
- Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
- Enhance your technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility system, and soil erosion plans.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit sites to observe field conditions and participate in team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field including Biology, Architecture, or Urban Planning.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided if you are not yet proficient.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn.
