About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in our Rehoboth Beach office. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in site design and land development. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers on commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects. This internship provides insight into the complete site development process, from initial concept to construction.
What you'll do#
- Experience the daily operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the various stages of the land development and site design process.
- Enhance technical skills using AutoCAD Civil 3D to create concept, grading, stormwater, utility, and erosion control plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate and drive projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in practice.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.
