About the role#
The Instrument & Controls Intern for BESS joins our Engineering & Development Services group for the Summer 2027 term. You will gain hands-on experience by working on engineering projects and collaborating with our professional teams. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering tasks under close supervision.
- Learn department design guides, standards, systems, and engineering codes.
- Assist in preparing deliverables like Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), specifications, and engineering schedules.
- Gain exposure to project scope, budget, and schedule management.
- Participate in internal project reviews and coordination meetings.
- Share design information and decisions with your project team.
- Network with experienced engineers and company executives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited university engineering program.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- High motivation and the ability to take initiative.
- Attention to detail and solid computer skills.
- No prior work experience is required.

- The position is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship.
