    About the role#

    As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will work on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This full-time, paid summer internship provides hands-on experience in engineering design, project coordination, and technical research. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to support project execution from concept to completion.

    What you'll do#

    • Apply departmental design guides, engineering codes, and company standards to project tasks.
    • Coordinate with project teams to support the design and construction of infrastructure.
    • Perform research to recommend specific equipment or materials.
    • Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard principles.
    • Assist in the development of project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
    • Learn to use engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods.
    • Balance the needs of internal project leadership while learning about external client interests.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with an emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical engineering.
    • Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, construction practices, and industry technology trends.
    • Coursework in water/wastewater, hydraulics, and fluid mechanics is preferred.
    • A 3.0 GPA is preferred.
    • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Locations: Cincinnati, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Bloomington, Minnesota.
