About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Civil Engineer Intern, you will work on water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, paid internship where you will gain hands-on experience by supporting project teams and contributing to the design and execution of critical infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Read and apply departmental design guides, standards, and engineering codes.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support the design and construction of water and wastewater projects.
- Perform research to provide recommendations for equipment and materials.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods.
- Assist with the development of project schedules, cost estimates, and deliverables.
- Learn to use engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods.
- Focus on internal client needs while building an understanding of external client goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with an emphasis in Structural, Environmental, Transportation, or Geotechnical engineering.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, industry technology trends, and construction practices.
- Coursework in water/wastewater, hydraulics, or fluid mechanics is preferred.
- A 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.
