About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Student Digital Construction Coordinator for a 4 or 8 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role provides an opportunity to manage specific project responsibilities while receiving guidance from a supervisor and technical mentor. Interns will work on-site in Regina, Saskatchewan, to support digital construction deployment and project coordination.
What you'll do#
- Act as a Model Administrator for assigned projects.
- Maintain and facilitate models, including structure, architectural elements, and MEP systems.
- Assist project teams in identifying constructability issues and developing schedule visualization models.
- Facilitate site logistics plans within a model environment.
- Train project staff and subcontractors on digital construction software and workflows.
- Assist in developing dialogue with consultants and designers, including the collection and coordination of BIM models.
- Coordinate 3D laser scans, point cloud models, and model coordination meetings.
- Prepare 4D simulations and assist with VDC close-out documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent program.
- Completion of at least one semester of education following the internship.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience working with Revit and Navisworks.
- Ability to lead and operate in a frequently changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, and Fuzor is considered an asset.
- Must possess a valid work permit or residency status allowing employment in Canada.
