About the role#
This summer internship offers a hands-on perspective on tax practices within the Financial Services Tax group. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to prepare tax returns and extensions while building relationships that support your career growth.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions using firm software.
- Perform quarterly estimates and assist with year-end filing projections.
- Help respond to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Collect data to ensure compliance with filing requirements and firm policies.
- Organize files to minimize rework for reviewers.
- Use online research tools to monitor tax law and client developments.
- Assist with income tax provisions, including FAS 109 and FIN 48 components.
- Recommend methods to maximize client benefits and decrease tax burdens.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
