About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will support our client base by preparing tax returns and extensions. You will work under the supervision of experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience with firm practices. This role is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns, extensions, and quarterly estimates.
- Collect data and organize files to meet filing requirements.
- Assist with income tax provisions and responses to IRS notices.
- Apply firm policies regarding FAS 109 and FIN 48.
- Monitor tax law developments and use online research tools to gather information.
- Manage due dates and engagement letters.
- Work with tax software to complete simple returns.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a relevant field.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
- Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting or a relevant field is preferred.
