About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to learn our audit practices. This role provides a hands-on perspective of the firm and helps you begin building professional relationships. You will assist with problem solving and fact-finding while receiving coaching and direction throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured on-the-job training program.
- Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology.
- Assist with various stages of the audit process and provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Share your ideas and opinions with audit teams.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Pursuing a Masters degree in Accounting and leadership experience are preferred.
