About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to support our audit practice. This role provides a hands-on perspective on our firm practices and gives you the chance to build professional relationships. You will participate in structured training to develop your skills in a practical environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in structured on-the-job training.
- Learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO specific audit methodology.
- Support audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Share ideas and opinions with your audit team.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- A Masters degree in Accounting and leadership experience are preferred.
