About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in our practice. You will assist with problem solving and fact-finding while building professional relationships. This role is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Apply BDO audit methodology to support various stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with clients, banks, creditors, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm templates and tools.
- Share ideas with audit teams and respond to feedback from colleagues.
- Complete an assigned research project and present findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a team, follow instructions, and maintain a positive attitude.
- A Masters degree in Accounting and previous leadership experience are preferred.
