About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to gain hands-on experience in the audit practice. This role focuses on applying your academic background to real-world client engagements while developing professional relationships within the firm. You will receive coaching and direction as you assist with various stages of the audit process.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Gain familiarity with BDO audit methodology to assist with engagement tasks.
- Provide support functions to audit staff during active engagements.
- Communicate with clients, creditors, banks, and related parties regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using firm tools and templates.
- Complete an assigned research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
- Contribute ideas and listen to team members during discussions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions.
