About the role#
BDO Digital is seeking a Business/Quality Assurance Analyst intern for the summer of 2027. This role provides insight into software development, consulting, and business operations. You will join the BDO Technology team to support client projects, analyze business processes, and contribute to quality assurance initiatives. We look for individuals with a strong analytical mindset and an interest in applying AI and automation to improve project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Act as a client advisor to understand requirements and support the delivery of quality solutions.
- Gather requirements and analyze business processes to identify gaps or areas needing clarification.
- Prepare project artifacts including Solution Requirement Specifications, User Stories, Use Cases, Process Diagrams, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for client solutions.
- Leverage AI tools for requirements analysis, test design, documentation, and problem solving while validating AI-generated outputs.
- Identify risks, edge cases, and requirement gaps by applying critical thinking.
- Collaborate with development and project teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Participate in innovation initiatives to explore AI and automation in software development.
What you'll need#
- Current student in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- General understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with business requirement gathering or building test plans and test cases.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Basic programming or scripting knowledge.
- Preferred: Exposure to test automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Preferred: Exposure to APIs, SQL, Git, cloud platforms, or CI/CD pipelines.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid, on-site, and remote options available.
- Compensation: $53,000 to $78,000 annually.
- Employment Type: Full time, paid internship.
