About the role#
BCI is seeking an Investment Services co-op student or intern for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms, running from January to August. You will join the Investment Operations department to support projects related to corporate and asset class initiatives. This role involves working under a Senior Analyst to assist with daily processing, monitoring, and the development of department analytics.
What you'll do#
- Develop conceptual knowledge of trade workflows with a focus on illiquid asset classes.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing workflows and workbooks used in daily operations.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with team members and internal partners.
- Gain familiarity with relevant internal systems.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Fundamental knowledge of business and investment-related disciplines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Problem-solving abilities and a clear, concise communication style.
- Prior experience or training with Excel.
- Dedication to hard work and a commitment to ethical standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a close, interdependent team environment.
- Enrollment in a relevant program such as Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
Location & details#
- This position is based at our office at 750 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, British Columbia.
- Work is performed on-site with the option to work from home one day per week.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Compensation is $2,330 gross bi-weekly for those working towards a graduate degree, and $2,155 gross bi-weekly for those working towards an undergraduate degree, diploma, or certificate.
- A fixed-rate travel allowance is provided for students relocating to Victoria.
