About the role#
The Institute for Oral History at Baylor University is seeking a Student Worker to assist with transcription and general office operations. This role focuses on the documentation and preservation of oral history projects. This position is open to students majoring in History, Communications, or English.
What you'll do#
- Transcribe audio recordings from oral history projects collected by the institute.
- Audit and proofread transcripts for accuracy.
- Research the correct spelling of names and technical terms using departmental and online resources.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including mail processing and journal distribution.
- Post flyers around campus to promote upcoming events.
What you'll need#
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
- Strong attention to detail for proofreading and editing.
- Proficiency in conducting research using online resources.

- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site at Carroll Library.
- Compensation: $10.00 per hour.
- Term: Rolling, ongoing employment.
