About the role#
This is a summer student worker position within the Campus Living & Learning department at Baylor University. The role focuses on maintaining the safety, security, and community atmosphere of the North Village residence halls.
What you'll do#
- Safety and Security: Monitor building activity, report suspicious behavior, address policy violations, and assist emergency responders. You will monitor fire and door alarm panels from the front desk.
- Customer Service: Manage the front desk by checking residents in and out, assisting with lockouts, handling packages, managing lost and found items, and answering general questions.
- Community Engagement: Greet residents and guests as they enter, learn names, and foster a welcoming environment by engaging in conversation and building positive relationships.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student, with a preference for majors in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Psychology.
- Ability to maintain a professional and observant presence at the front desk.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with residents and provide helpful service.
- Capability to handle administrative tasks and follow emergency protocols.
Location & details#
- Location: North Village (Texana House or University House), Waco, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2026 (May 17 – August 17).
- Schedule: 10–40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $8/hour.
- Modality: On-site.
