Student Worker - Summer Office Assistant Position - North Village - BC

About the role#

This is a summer student worker position within the Campus Living & Learning department at Baylor University. The role focuses on maintaining the safety, security, and community atmosphere of the North Village residence halls.

What you'll do#

• Safety and Security: Monitor building activity, report suspicious behavior, address policy violations, and assist emergency responders. You will monitor fire and door alarm panels from the front desk.
• Customer Service: Manage the front desk by checking residents in and out, assisting with lockouts, handling packages, managing lost and found items, and answering general questions.
• Community Engagement: Greet residents and guests as they enter, learn names, and foster a welcoming environment by engaging in conversation and building positive relationships.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student, with a preference for majors in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Psychology.
• Ability to maintain a professional and observant presence at the front desk.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with residents and provide helpful service.
• Capability to handle administrative tasks and follow emergency protocols.

Location & details#

• Location: North Village (Texana House or University House), Waco, Texas.
• Term: Summer 2026 (May 17 – August 17).
• Schedule: 10–40 hours per week.
• Compensation: $8/hour.
• Modality: On-site.
