About the role#
Baylor University is hiring an undergraduate student to serve as an Office Assistant within the Biology department for the Fall 2026 term. This role provides administrative and operational support to keep the department running smoothly. You will act as the first point of contact for guests and callers while assisting with projects that support departmental goals.
What you'll do#
- Greet faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
- Answer the telephone and provide customer service.
- Manage office supplies, mail distribution, and internal records.
- Update inventory spreadsheets and Box folders.
- Design original content or update materials like slides, posters, and signs.
- Maintain the department website and social media presence.
- Assist with event planning, compliance processes, and special initiatives.
- Generate reports and suggest improvements to existing procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student.
- Experience with design work.
- Working knowledge of Canva, PowerPoint, and various social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Commitment to regular, punctual attendance and adherence to University policies.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site at the Baylor Science Building in Waco, Texas.
- The role is paid at $12 per hour.
- Work hours are flexible.
