About the role#
The Clear Path program seeks student workers to support an NSF-funded initiative for students in science, technology, and mathematics. You will serve as a mentor and tutor for ClearPath Scholars, helping them succeed as they transition to the university.
What you'll do#
- Travel to partner community colleges at least once per semester to meet with your assigned scholar.
- Maintain regular contact with scholars throughout the semester.
- Attend program events and training sessions.
- Meet regularly with scholars to provide guidance.
- Set and maintain tutoring hours to help scholars with their coursework.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an ESU student.
- Major in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Strong knowledge in your field of study and the specific skills required for tutoring.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Strong English literacy skills.
- Ability to pass background checks including FBI fingerprinting and PA Child Abuse clearances.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Pennsylvania and requires on-site work.
- The role pays $10.00 per hour.
- You may work up to 20 hours per week.
- Hiring occurs on a rolling basis.
