About the role#
This role is for Federal Work Study students interested in fashion, design, or theater. You will gain experience in costume design and management at the Waco Civic Theatre. This is a paid, part-time position for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Help design, create, and alter costumes for various productions.
- Manage the organization and maintenance of the costume inventory, including creating a photo map and directory for storage.
- Assist actors with quick changes and costume fittings during performances.
- Work with the costume designer to realize creative visions.
- Clean and store costumes properly after shows.
What you'll need#
- Basic sewing skills and knowledge of garment construction.
- Experience with costume maintenance, such as cleaning, steaming, and organizing.
- Ability to assist with dressing and quick changes.
- Attention to detail, patience, and professionalism.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Creativity and an eye for design.
