About the role#
The Children's Program Assistant supports the daily operations of the Mission Waco children's program. This role involves direct engagement with children, program planning, and administrative support. The position is off-campus, requiring reliable transportation.
What you'll do#
- Plan and implement daily activities, including gathering equipment and setting up rooms.
- Build positive relationships with the children participating in the program.
- Supervise children and volunteers during daily activities.
- Enforce program rules and discipline policies.
- Assist with administrative duties and cleaning tasks as needed.
- If 21 or older with a valid driver's license and good driving record, you may receive training to assist with transporting youth from school to the program.
What you'll need#
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- General office skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate flexibility.
- Problem-solving competence and a mature approach to communication.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 10 to 15 hours per week. The program runs Monday through Thursday from approximately 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Students are expected to attend for two of the four days.
- Compensation: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour, depending on student status and skill level.
