About the role#
This position supports a funded interdisciplinary pilot study examining how U.S. military veterans use large language models, such as ChatGPT and Claude, for health information seeking and therapeutic communication. The project is a collaboration between faculty in the Departments of Communication, Public Health, and English at Baylor University.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis.
- Conduct outreach and correspondence with veteran-serving organizations in the Waco and Central Texas region.
- Schedule and coordinate participant interviews.
- Conduct literature and database research to support the project team.
- Assist with general research administration.
- Students with prior experience in qualitative methods may have the opportunity to participate in coding and analysis of interview data under faculty supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a graduate or undergraduate student at Baylor University.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience in research settings, community outreach, or working with veteran or military-connected populations is preferred.

- Location: Morrison Hall 101.5, Waco, Texas.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026 through Winter 2027.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $15.25 per hour.
