About the role#
This research assistantship supports the Creative Writing for Civic Engagement project. This initiative brings K-12 students to the Pace Art Gallery for writing workshops. You will help research how these workshops impact both the visiting students and the undergraduate workshop leaders. This role runs throughout the 2026-2027 academic year.
What you'll do#
- Train as a writing workshop instructor using established curriculum.
- Observe and support creative writing campus fieldtrips, which typically occur on Fridays.
- Design and administer surveys to collect feedback from K-12 teachers and students.
- Analyze the data gathered from these surveys.
- Help write the final project report for grant funders.
What you'll need#
- You must be Work Study eligible. Please verify this in your student portal before applying.
- Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- A genuine interest in writing and an enthusiastic, supportive attitude toward other writers.
- Familiarity with Excel, Forms, Qualtrix, and presentation software, or a willingness to learn these tools.
- Availability on select Fridays between 10am and 3pm.
