About the role#
As an Academic Technology Services Computer Lab Assistant, you will support students and staff with their daily computing and printing needs. This position offers a consistent schedule for the semester that works around your classes, with options to pick up extra shifts. You are encouraged to work on your own homework during quiet periods while on duty.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic computer support and assist users with software or printing problems.
- Troubleshoot common account, quota, and email issues for lab users.
- Maintain the lab environment by keeping it clean and orderly.
- Manage lost and found items and track print deposits.
- Handle cash transactions up to $100.
- Complete optional training and exams to earn pay raises.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Wyoming.
- Previous customer service experience and strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with consumer technology, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and explain solutions to others.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Laramie, Wyoming.
- Shifts are available during the day, evening, overnight, and on weekends. Preference is given to those available between 7am and 1pm on weekdays or 5pm to 11pm shifts.
- This is a part-time, paid position with a rolling term.
