About the role#
This position supports the Communities in Schools of the Heart of Texas (CIS HOT) program. Math tutors assist high school students with homework and GED preparation. This role is reserved for Baylor University students who are eligible for Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Assist students with math coursework and GED studies.
- Coordinate with the tutoring manager regarding scheduling and service implementation.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and CIS staff.
- Attend required meetings and professional development trainings.
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete detailed service logs for each student.
- Ensure program objectives are met in accordance with contract requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University.
- Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Spanish speaking skills are considered a plus.

- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
