About the role#
The HSB AI Consultant serves as a resource for faculty and staff seeking to integrate Generative AI tools into their teaching, research, and professional productivity. Based in the Technology Center, this role focuses on promoting AI literacy by guiding users on how to apply these tools creatively, effectively, and responsibly. This position is open to students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Psychology, or Communications.
What you'll do#
- Review and update existing Canvas courses to enhance the AI community.
- Provide walk-in and scheduled support for faculty and staff using tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini.
- Assist users in transitioning from simple queries to effective, multi-step, and persona-based prompting.
- Help faculty and staff explore and identify AI agents relevant to specific business disciplines.
- Educate the community on university AI policies, proper citation, and the identification of AI limitations like bias and hallucinations.
- Create accessible resources including quick-start guides, use-case templates, and video snippets.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student in good academic standing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience using AI tools.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- A commitment to academic integrity and the responsible use of technology.
- Preferred experience includes developing AI agents, familiarity with business-specific AI use cases, and prior experience in tutoring, mentoring, or technical support.

- Location: Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation, Waco, TX.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible, up to 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $15 per hour.
