About the role#
Baxter & Woodman offers a summer internship for students interested in civil and environmental engineering. You will support our environmental and construction groups by working on the design and construction of various facilities. This role provides exposure to both office-based design and field work, and you will work directly with our clients.
What you'll do#
- Assist senior engineers with the evaluation, study, and design of potable water distribution systems, wastewater collection pipelines, and pumping stations.
- Support the design of water and wastewater treatment plants and drainage systems.
- Perform field work related to water system rehabilitation, stormwater system management, and the installation of water mains and sanitary sewers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Civil Engineering degree program, with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering.
- A minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0.
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- You must have your own transportation and the ability to travel throughout the Chicago area.
