About the role#
Baxter & Woodman is hiring a Construction Engineering Intern for our West Palm Beach, Florida office. This position starts in May 2027 and offers hands-on experience across our transportation, water, and wastewater departments. You will work directly with our clients and participate in field observations for various infrastructure projects, including roadway, bridge, and sewer work.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction services such as quantity computation, construction layout, survey, and inspection.
- Support engineers with the evaluation, study, and design of transportation, storm sewer, water, and treatment plant improvements.
- Conduct field work and participate in water and wastewater system rehabilitation studies.
- Engage in the active oversight of construction projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in construction engineering.
- Ability to start in May 2027.
- Desire and physical ability to work outdoors for 40+ hours per week.
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify and solve problems quickly.
- Capacity to work well within a team environment.
- Reliable personal transportation to travel throughout the service area.
