About the role#
Baxter & Woodman is hiring a Transportation Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work within our transportation department to assist with the planning and design of various transportation facilities. This role provides hands-on experience working alongside a design team.
What you'll do#
- Perform plan reviews and prepare plans.
- Use CAD software for design tasks.
- Compute quantities for projects.
- Conduct traffic analysis and data collection.
- Assist with field surveys and construction inspection.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a 4-year degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Engineering.
- You are available to start in May 2027.
- You have your own transportation and are able to travel throughout our service area.
- You work well in a team environment.
- You possess strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Work is available on-site or in a hybrid format.
- You may choose to work from our offices in Bannockburn, Chicago, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, Illinois.
- We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
