About the role#
As a Respiratory Care Intern at Baptist Memorial Health Care, you will provide technical assistance and patient care under the direct supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. This role focuses on supporting quality patient outcomes through clinical support, equipment management, and active participation in ongoing educational activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient assessments and contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
- Manage low-flow oxygen setups, non-exotic aerosol therapy, and airway clearance therapy outside of critical care areas.
- Perform electrocardiograms and assist with equipment cleaning, stocking, and transportation.
- Provide support to clinical staff during cardiorespiratory arrests, provided you hold a current Basic Life Support certification.
- Engage in activities to improve health care delivery and build your clinical leadership knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a second-year student in an accredited AS Respiratory Care program or status as a senior-year candidate in an accredited BS Respiratory Care program within one year of graduation.
- Ability to meet or exceed all academic requirements.
- Basic computer literacy.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of your hire date.

- The role is full-time and follows a rolling term schedule.
