About the role#
As a State & Local Tax Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the multi-state tax area. You will work on real client engagements, helping to bridge the gap between your academic studies and professional practice. This role provides exposure to various tax disciplines and the opportunity to work alongside experienced associates, managers, and partners.
What you'll do#
- Deliver tax advisory and compliance services to clients.
- Conduct research and prepare memorandums on state and local tax issues.
- Assist with M&A due diligence and voluntary disclosure programs.
- Support various tax compliance matters, including sales and use taxes, income and franchise taxes, property taxes, and unclaimed property.
- Help address tax-related questions for internal clients and prospects.
- Participate in orientation, technical training, and development programs.
- Engage in on-the-job training through active project work.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Accounting or a related business discipline.
- At least one academic term remaining after your internship ends.
- On track to meet educational requirements for CPA or Bar exam eligibility before starting a full-time Associate position.
- Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Foundational accounting knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Curiosity, learning agility, and attention to detail.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Submission of a resume and unofficial transcript is required.
