About the role#
As a Tax Intern in Core Tax Services, you will work with experienced professionals to support our client base. You will gain hands-on experience with firm practices while building professional relationships. This is a full-time, paid summer internship for 2028 located in Greenville, South Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and extensions under supervision.
- Help clients comply with tax authorities while minimizing their reporting burdens.
- Use tax software to complete simple returns and organize files to reduce rework.
- Perform quarterly estimates and assist with year-end filing projections.
- Respond to notices from the Internal Revenue Service.
- Apply firm policies regarding FAS 109 and FIN 48.
- Assist with income tax provisions and research tax information using online tools.
- Monitor tax law developments and share insights with the client service team.
- Track impending due dates and engagement letters.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting or a related field.
- Active pursuit of school credits required to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
