About the role#
Baird, Hampton & Brown is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site role in Fort Worth, Texas, provides exposure to various project types in both private and public sectors. You will work alongside an established team of engineers to build technical skills and gain experience with electrical engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Design lighting and lighting control systems.
- Design electrical distribution systems, from utility sources to customer panelboards and equipment loads.
- Assist with cost estimates and specification preparations.
- Document existing electrical installations during on-site visits and identify the impact on planned renovations.
- Visit construction sites to confirm that installations meet contract documents.
- Attend client meetings to represent the electrical interests of the firm.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 12-18 hours of completed Electrical Engineering coursework.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exposure to AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with software such as Revit, Bluebeam, Autodesk Inventor, AGI-32, or SKM/E-Tap is a plus.
