About the role#
Avancez LLC is looking for an Operations Intern to support our manufacturing operations in Lansing. This role provides direct exposure to production, team member development, quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Support daily manufacturing operations and collaborate with teams across the facility.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and development for team members, including the creation of training materials.
- Monitor performance requirements using the Versatility Matrix.
- Support audits and compliance activities like PVS, SOT, and 5S to identify and address operational gaps.
- Validate daily documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in daily 5S activities and continuous improvement projects.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with staffing and scheduling to meet operational needs.
- Use data to solve problems and improve performance.
- Build working relationships across the facility.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Operations, or a related field.
- Completed at least one year of college coursework.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous work experience in manufacturing or operations is preferred.
