About the role#
The Epidemiology & Real-World Science (Epi-RWS) team is seeking a master’s-level student for a full-time, eight-month internship. You will support the Hematology, Nephrology, and Neurology therapeutic areas. This role focuses on epidemiology initiatives that inform clinical development, medical affairs, commercial planning, regulatory strategy, and product lifecycle management.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to epidemiology and real-world science activities across Hematology, Nephrology, and Neurology.
- Lead or support the development of descriptive epidemiologic analysis concepts, study plans, protocols, and project documentation.
- Conduct structured literature searches using databases like PubMed or Embase and critically appraise publications.
- Synthesize research findings into clear evidence summaries.
- Participate in meetings with colleagues in Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Safety, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.
- Present project updates, lessons learned, and key findings to Epi-RWS colleagues and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Maintain regular check-ins with your manager and participate in team working sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in Epidemiology, Public Health, or a closely related field.
- Expected graduation date after August 2027.
- Must be returning to school following the internship or requiring the placement for academic credit.
- Graduate-level coursework in epidemiologic methods, observational research design, biostatistics, or data analysis.
- Experience with programming languages or tools such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL.
- Familiarity with primary or secondary epidemiologic research and observational study designs.
- Exposure to healthcare databases or large observational datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time for the duration of the eight-month term.

- Location: Mississauga, Ontario.
- Term: January 2027 through August 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with expectations to work onsite at the Mississauga head office approximately two to three days per week.
- Status: Paid, full-time internship.
