About the role#
This paid, full-time summer internship program offers hands-on experience at our commercial-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Frederick, Maryland. You will lead a meaningful project and present your outcomes to staff and site leadership. Throughout the summer, you will build technical and business skills through real-world projects, cross-functional collaboration, and professional development sessions.
What you'll do#
- Lead projects and present findings to leadership.
- Analyze data inputs and report on findings to drive site improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimizations.
- Execute lab and process tasks, including solution preparation and unit operations.
- Maintain clear records and collect, analyze, and track key performance metrics.
- Support project cost/benefit analysis and capital management tracking.
- Engage in inventory optimization, capacity modeling, and digital tool implementation.
- Create machine learning and AI models using manufacturing data.
- Perform microbiological testing using pipetting and aseptic techniques.
- Support the implementation of electronic lab notebooks and system validation.
- Utilize document management systems and implement batch release documentation processes.
- Design and build data analytics applications and dashboards.
What you'll need#
- US Work Authorization at the time of application. You must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Expected graduation date after August 2027.
- A basic understanding of technical areas related to your functional area.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment.

- Term: June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Modality: On-site, 5 days a week.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
