About the role#
The Portfolio Optimization Intern supports the Planning and Market Operations Division. You will contribute to process improvement initiatives, data analytics, and optimization strategies for load and generation. This role involves working with the electric power market operations team to provide analysis and operational support.
What you'll do#
- Collect, validate, and analyze data for load forecasting, generation planning, and market operations.
- Support optimization modeling efforts for portfolio planning and economic dispatch.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to assist with decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement efficient workflows.
- Perform analytical reviews of forecasts and strategies.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Data Analytics.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of skill in analytical writing and technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with data analysis and modeling tools like Excel, SQL, Python, or R is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time internship.
- The role requires regular and punctual attendance, including the ability to work outside scheduled office hours when necessary.
